1914
Opened door to business at No. 72, Beach Street, 10300 Penang, Malaysia, with main business in selling wheat flour imported from Australia.
1956
Incorporated with Companies Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia, SSM). SHC was one of the pioneer companies registered with SSM with company register number 2427-M.
1961
SHC was appointed as the main distributor of United Malayan Flour (UMF), a Malaysia pioneer wheat flour manufacturer. SHC retains this position today.
1991
SHC started the starches business and capitalized on opportunities to import corn starch, wheat starch, tapioca starch, potato starch and sago starch from various countries globally for trading.
2014
With massive expansion, SHC moved from its humble first office at No. 72 Beach Street to the pride of its achievement, its own 80,000 sq ft warehouse at Perai Industrial Estate, Perai.
Present
Today, SHC’s starch business is Malaysia’s market leader .
